The requirements that must be adhered to in relation to Display Screen Equipment (DSE) are outlined under The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work, (General Application) Regulations 2007, Chapter 5 of Part 2, requires all employers undertake a VDU workstation assessment for individuals using Display Screen Equipment.

VDU Risk Assessments assess the workstations and work environment for potential hazards and identify controls to reduce the level of risks. Employers must pay particular attention to eyesight, physical difficulties and mental stress of their employees and put in the precautions control of any risks identified.
